The Evidence Files: How Dom Monaghan and Viggo Mortenson got screwed

VERY LATE ENTRY: January 2010 This is a collection of original journal posts. Read on for a sample of the discovery process, in which my friends and I learned that the "charity" Bit of Earth was a fraud, and its leaders were con artists. This is just a tidbit of what's available in "When A Fan Hits the Shit," for sale here.

First of all, a description provided firsthand by the volunteer who was sent to Los Angeles, in order to obtain some Video Interviews for a BoE event, the "Lost Palantir Film Festival."



LP was coming together as an incredible event. I was told by Jordan that over 400 tickets had been sold. [edit: there were 63 tickets sold to the film festival]

On Thursday afternoon before the event I received a phone call from Bit of Earth asking me what I was doing that evening. Well it turns out what I would be doing is flying to LA to receive a video from Mr. Astin, to video tape Dom and Viggo. I did not understand why I was being sent but was thrilled they trusted me.

Because of the rush the Astins had to do to get to the airport I was told I would be picking up the tape from Mr.Astins pr firm. I arrived to the office, via public transportation as the rental car fell through, and had a wonderful visit with Gibson who is Sean's pr person. They helped this bumbling newcomer with the camcorder and allowed me to stay there for awhile to receive word on Viggo and Dom. I was still waiting,six hours later, when I received word that Viggo's voiceover session ran long and he would be meeting with me at the pr offices at 11:00 am Sat.

Okay, on to Dom. He'd had his teeth pulled and his face was swollen and they would be pouring the anti-inflamitories thru him and his face would not be so swollen and I could meet with him at noon Sat. Pushing the deadline as my flight was at 2:45 pm and the film festival was that evening.

the next morning I waited for Viggo for one and a half hours and who didn't show. I was told we were scheduled with him but Viggo had gone missing in action. On to Dom who now was throwing up because he had an allergy to ibiprofin. On to the airport with an incredible taxi driver, a wild ride, arriving at the airport 11 minutes before my flight,racing thru the airport dragging cam corder, bags, and all with me. Huffing and a puffing I made it!!!!! Granted they had to unlock the door for me and had the giggles or outrite laughter at this old, out of breath hobbit, at least I dyed my hair before I left.

Race through the skies and on to the film festival. Small turnout but I was thrilled to have done it. I delivered that wonderful man's [Sean Astin's] tape to Bit of Earth. How much was truth, I can't tell you as all instruction came from Jordan.I can only tell you my conduct was honorable and I never had any reason, until now, to question.I would like to know as it was my time,some of my own money towards buses and taxis. I do know I received a western union, from someone who's name I did not know, for $50.00 towards the mad dash to the airport.

So, how much WAS true? Read on for a post I left on this LJ, after making some phone calls:

I just talked to Dominic Monaghan's PR person. Dominic Monaghan NEVER EVER had ANY intention of giving a Video Interview to Bit of Earth for the Lost Palantir festival.

Jordan told Shireling Sue to go to LA for the interview. Jordan told Sue to go to an address in LA that was Dom's apartment. Sue was to meet Siri, Dom's publicist, out front of the apartment, and Siri would either take Sue up to get a 5 minute interview with Dom, or if Dom was just too sick, Siri would take the Winner's Certificates up to Dom to sign, so at least the winners would have his autograph.

THERE WAS NO TRUTH TO THIS.

Siri told me that Dom did get his wisdom teeth out, that he really WAS allergic to ibuprophen and was sick as a dog after the dentist appointment, but that he NEVER EVER promised, implied, or agreed to meet Sue at his apartment. Siri had never offered to meet Sue out front so she could either interview Dom or get his signature.

I TALKED TO SIRI. THIS IS STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH, SO TO SPEAK.

Once more, the lengths that Jordan was willing to go to, to convince us that she had contact with the stars, is astounding.

I just talked to Viggo Mortenson's PR person

Same story as Dom's PR person.

Viggo had NEVER EVER Agreed to produce a video greeting for Lost Palantir. He was asked, but turned Jordan down flat.

Jordan instructed Shireling Sue to meet Viggo at a studio in LA on Friday Sept. 19. Viggo was supposedly working in this studio doing voice overs. The session supposedly went long and Sue spent 6 hours sitting in Sean's PR firm's office, waiting by the phone for word from Jordan giving her the green light to go meet with Viggo. The PR firm was kind enough to give her a place to sit and a phone to use, since she was on her own without even a working cell phone. Finally the day ended and Viggo hadn't finished his job. It would have to wait until the next day. Jordan told Sue that Viggo was to meet her at Sean's PR firm at 11 AM. This was a Saturday and the firm was closed. Jordan told her that Viggo chose that spot because he knew Sue could find it. Sue went there and waited for an hour. Viggo never showed. Finally Sue was forced to leave in order to meet Dom at Dom's apartment (see above post).

THERE WAS NO TRUTH TO WHAT JORDAN WAS SAYING!

Again, I talked to Viggo's PR person, who vividly remembered being asked by Jordan for permission to do the interview. She flatly denied that Viggo had EVER been interested in anything to do with Lost Palantir or Bit of Earth. NONE of these supposed appointments with Viggo had EVER been made.

Jordan left poor Shireling Sue sitting in Los angeles KNOWING that there would be no movie star interviews. Sue spent $80 of her own money on cabs and buses and food, running all over town to meet the celebrities, when there was absolutely no basis for it.

Once again Jordan did everything necessary to LOOK legitimate, down to the elaborate stories and long waits for Sue, but it was all a LIE.
